EAA AirVenture this year features weeklong
activities as part of a “WomenVenture” program. Speakers, seminars, and
other activities are planned all week long, culminating in the largest
gathering of women pilots in history in AeroShell Square. On Friday, August
1st, at 10:30 a.m., women pilots will gather in AeroShell Square for a
panoramic group photo of what we hope becomes the largest gathering of women
pilots anywhere and anytime! The first 1,200 women registered on grounds to be
in the group photo on Friday during AirVenture will get an official
WomenVenture t-shirt.
WomenVenture is made possible through a
partnership between WAI and EAA, with support of the 99’s. For
up-to-the-minute details, visit www.airventure.org/womenventure,
or contact the EAA Development department at 1-800-236-1025. Women can sign up
to be in the logbook online
and can stop by the EAA Welcome Center during AirVenture from Monday, July 28 -
Sunday, August 3, to sign the logbook. You don’t have to be present on
Friday, August 1, to be part of the count.
