Aircraft Arriving and Departing OSH for AirVenture 2009

If you will be flying from outside the United
States to attend AirVenture 2009, you're flight planning should start now.
Your border crossing documents must be filled at least 30 days prior to
departure to ensure timely arrival.
The following steps are necessary:
- Select the Customs and Border Protection
(CBP) airport port of entry. CBP airport ports of entries are found at
http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/contacts/ports/.
**Wittman Regional Airport is NOT a CBP airport port of entry.
- Obtain a CBP 2009 user fee decal. You
must have a decal at your port of entry. These decals can be ordered
at https://dtops.cbp.dhs.gov/.
- At least 30 days before your flight
obtain a sender ID and password (required for all flights crossing
boarders) from the CBP "Private Aircraft APIS." If traveling
from Canada, Mexico or the Bahamas, obtain a username and password,
from the TSA International Waiver system. For both the CBP APIS and
the TSA waiver systems enrollment confirmation will be sent via the
registered e-mail address. This verification should be received within
24 hours.

- The CBP "Private Aircraft
APIS," also known as eAPIS, border crossing information is
required to be submitted a minimum of 60 minutes before the planned
departure. Your return flight APIS information can be filed
simultaneously with your departing flight. (If flight times/ routes
change or a plans needs to be filed while visiting AirVenture, CBP
experts in the Federal Pavilion can update or file your plans.) The
eAPIS web portal/site can be accessed using any portable device with
web access, including Blackberry, iPhone, Palm Treo, smart phone, etc.
You can also use, for a fee one of the CBP approved APIS service

- Prior to your departure, verify your
arrival into the United States by phoning your CBP airport port of
entry and confirm the entry requirements have been met.
Upon arrival at AirVenture, please visit
the Federal Pavilion and the CBP eAPIS booth to share your experiences and
offer suggestions to foster improvement with the system.
It may appear the CBP and TSA systems are
redundant, it is necessary to comply with both. EAA has requested that the
Department of Homeland Security investigate the possibility that these two
systems be streamlined into one. They have agreed to investigate.
