Seventeen students from Wathen Aviation High
School in Riverside, California, decided to travel to EAA AirVenture
Oshkosh 2009. By holding bake sales, car washes, and other fundraisers,
they are raising the money they need to get there. Oshkosh's EAA Chapter
252 has volunteered sleeping bags, tents, and camping space at Camp
Scholler.
The group plans on volunteering every day
to help with AirVenture activities. One of the high school teachers and
five parents will accompany the students to Oshkosh. Wathen Aviation High
School is a free public charter school located on Flabob Airport, home of
EAA Chapter 1. If you'd like to donate to help the students get to
AirVenture this year, call Kathy Rohm at 951-683-2309 ext. 104 or visit www.Flabob.org
and click on the Wathen Foundation tab, then on Foundation News.
